“From the Wild Sky” captures Loren soaring — confident, embattled and empowered, ever attuned to the healing powers of music in these troubled times. Each song tells of a journey, and the sum total of the album itself represents a voyage that beckons the listener to travel along, through fragility and conflict into a tenuous but graceful acceptance, grounded in wisdom and celebrated with stunning artistry.

Loren’s recording career spans over a decade, with nine internationally-acclaimed self-produced solo albums. This release, Loren’s tenth, turns the spotlight toward her songwriting, showcasing her multi-faceted artistry in a brand new light. “From the Wild Sky”, with 10 original songs and one shimmery rendition of Roberto Livi’s “A Mi Manera”, features a rich sonic tapestry gorgeously woven together by producer and drummer Troy Miller (Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter, Laura Mvula) in collaboration with an international musical cast including guitarist Femi Temowo, bassists Michael Olatuja and Ben Williams, vocalist/charanguista player Becca Stevens, violist Nathan Schram, and cellist Andrew Yee. Loren features on not only lead vocals, but also a rich array of background vocal layers, piano, and other instrumentation.
