Just Jazz Presents is a new jazz event series at the Newport Performing Arts Center brought to you by non-profit organization, Just Jazz, Inc. The first event in this series will be on Sunday March 18th at 2pm.The double-bill concert features the Halie Loren quartet and the Chuck Redd Trio.
Halie Loren’s performance will include Matt Treder (piano), Charlie Doggett (drums), Sean Peterson (bass) and Rob Birdwell (trumpet). The Chuck Redd Trio (fronted by NY percussionist/vibraphonist Chuck Redd) will feature Portland-based pianist Randy Porter (recently nominated for a Grammy!) and Australian native, Nicki Parrott (who has performed with notable musicians such as Paul McCartney, Steve Miller and Tommy Emmanuel, among others).
Proceeds from these events will help Just Jazz, Inc. to continue to provide jazz education to our coastal communities. The March 18th show will also support the “Entertain the Future” Capital Campaign to help improve and enhance the Newport Performing Arts Center.
