FAQ for “Bring the Concert to You” Packages:
WHAT DOES YOUR “BRING THE CONCERT TO YOU” PACKAGE INCLUDE?
All three will include a 3- 4 hour private event with me and musicians as noted in each of the packages, in your home or some other appropriate space that fits the occasion.
• I will usually play for an hour or more and spend the rest of the time visiting, hanging out, eating, playing spontaneous music with you and/or guests at the event, eating again (hey, there may be homemade cookies!)… whatever seems to fit into an ideal evening of music and socializing. We can discuss and make plans prior to the event so that it meets your expectations!
• I will come with a tour manager and/or musicians to accompany me musically and in setting up for the event.
• I do ask that you be somewhat flexible about the date. I’ll do the same and do my very best to work it out so that everyone is happy.
Ideas for what this performance/event can look like includes: a concert in your home, small workplace event, backyard BBQ (include some tofu for me, please!) with campfire and s’mores, pool party with a trampoline and pony rides get-together (Please don’t judge me if I choose not to jump on the trampoline! I am a klutz!), etc. It can even include your wedding reception, as long as the parameters are discussed in advance to make sure your plans would fit within the guidelines of what this package is offering.
WHAT ARE THE RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR YOUR “BRING MY CONCERT TO YOU” PACKAGE?
There are only a few rules. I would recommend no more than a few dozen guests so that we can all truly feel like we are connecting with each other, but if you have an event to which you would like to invite a larger number of guests, we can certainly discuss and work it out. My time with you, including singing/visiting/playing games (gin rummy, anyone?)/eating those s’mores we make, etc. will run at least 3-4 hours. As long as the event is in a safe place (and legal, i.e. necessary permits obtained if in public setting, etc.), I can make it work and have fun doing so! I do reserve the right to pass on certain events if they violate the expressed stipulations, or if there are safety concerns. IF you’ve purchased this event directly through Kickstarter without having a chance to run details by my team at White Moon Productions (whitemoonprod@comcast.net) first, and if my team or I feel the need to back-out for whatever reason, I will very apologetically refund your money and try to find a good way to make it up to you. I am sure the Arctic Circle in December is an amazing place, as is a party barge floating the Amazon during thunderstorm season, and I really would love to visit those places sometime, but not as a traveling musician!
HOW DO I MAKE ONE OF YOUR “BRING THE CONCERT TO YOU” PACKAGE HAPPEN? – WE make it work—together, as a team. I will handle the music part, of course, and my team at White Moon Productions (whitemoonprod@comcast.net) will help you with figuring out sound systems if those are needed. The rest will depend entirely on what you’d like to have happen – you provide the place, the mix of people you wish to invite, and then you can have yummy snacks or a meal included, be it that you provide the food or ask your guests to pitch in with a potluck or order in pizzas… if food is involved, then all else falls into place like talking and laughing and lots of the good things in life.
WHAT KIND OF PERFORMANCE CAN I EXPECT WITH A PURCHASE OF ONE OF YOUR “BRING THE CONCERT TO YOU” PACKAGES?
I am very open on this to include a performance that fits your occasion. I will perform songs from my new album, take requests from my previous albums or perform cover songs that bring back memories (if I know them, of course)…and have sing-a-longs with you or your guests if that makes everyone happy. If close enough to travel by car, we (myself and whatever musicians are traveling with me) will bring a keyboard and other instruments we can fit into our van. And my ukulele travels everywhere, just like American Express (and almost as small!). If a ‘real’ piano is available at your site, we will jump with joy and do a spontaneous ‘happiest piano player in the world’ dance for you! If we are flying to reach your destination and no piano is available, perhaps your friends or family members have a keyboard they can lend you for the night. Whatever’s the case, we can discuss what’s needed for your event to accompany the group and even help finding rental options if those are needed well in advance. Again, I know we can make it work, some way, somehow, depending on place and time.
ONCE I PURCHASE ONE OF YOUR “BRING THE CONCERT TO YOU” PACKAGES, WHEN CAN WE MAKE IT HAPPEN?
I have to again stress that I CANNOT GUARANTEE SPECIFIC DATES AT THE TIME OF ACCEPTANCE. I know you can understand that my performance and touring schedules are much like a revolving door, in and out, back and forth, dictated by booking agents, managers, etc. You and I have to work together with our respective availabilities, and make it happen. We will need to schedule the event around my touring schedule, looking into specific windows of time according to whether you are purchasing a Northwest US, Within Continental US, or Global package. If you wish to buy a package for a very specific date, please check with my team at White Moon Productions (whitemoonprod@comcast.net) and they will work in a timely fashion to get you the info you need to determine if it’s workable and will help me to honor this commitment as quickly as the schedule allows. I can’t guarantee we can make your first date choice work, although I will try very hard to do so, but I promise I won’t make you wait beyond end of 2018, unless all parties are ok with a later performance date.
WHAT IF $4,000 OR $5,000 OR $10,000 FOR ONE OF YOUR “BRING THE CONCERT TO YOU” PACKAGE IS MORE THAN I CAN AFFORD PERSONALLY?
I hear ya – after all, I’m a musician! One way to approach this if you can’t personally budget it in but really really really want a concert of your very own, invite your friends to take part in this package with you! Combine your resources… make it a group effort and invite your friends in on the reward. Let me know if you’re trying to do this and I’ll be happy to put out the word on my social media to garner interest in your approach.
CAN I SELL GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS TO MY EVENT IF I PURCHASE ONE OF YOUR “BRING THE CONCERT TO YOU” PACKAGES?
This cannot be a “ticketed” event – it’s meant to be for you and your friends or family or neighborhood, and not an official event that would generally be funded through ticketing (a la club or performance hall shows). You can, of course, ask your friends to help you front the cost (see the above section)! This may not be an advertised show or open to the general public. There are good reasons for this that the Whitemoon Productions team can explain if you so desire via email.
WHAT ABOUT THE GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION FOR YOUR “BRINGING THE CONCERT TO YOU” PACKAGES?
If you’re my fan, I am guessing that you already know that I do love traveling to all parts of the world to perform. I will do my best to get to most corners of the globe to play my music, BUT there are regions that I might have to pass on if it’s a region that might be violent, politically unstable and volatile at the time, potentially harmful to health (due to natural or man-made causes), or just TOO difficult to get to (i.e. reference Arctic Circle here again). And as noted earlier, I do need to stay safe and legal (i.e. event is legal and permitted in your area/region and all appropriate permissions obtained from the proper authorities) at every level, wherever the event is scheduled. I know you can understand that requirement. To bypass some of the difficulties that could occur, home concerts are always the best, anywhere/everywhere in the world!!!
